Public Storage - Roach and rodents moved into our stuff while in storage
1 comment
We rented a unit in Fort Mill, SC for about a month while preparing our house for sale. At the end of the month, we moved into a new house.
When we picked up our stuff from storage it was covered in rodent droppings, but that wasn't the worst of it. Shortly after bringing everything to our new house we began seeing roaches - HUGE Carolina cockroaches. Our belongings are now infested with roaches thanks to the filthy conditions at this Public Storage unit.
I have no idea how much it's going to cost us to completely fumigate our house. It's just a nightmare.
Location: Fort Mill, South Carolina

There was probably a slob or restaurant person/business in the building because you figure there would be a food supply near by. The building owner should be responsible for fumigating the building.
As far as stuff damage they'll probably say unless insurance covers it you will get nothing. I would at least call code enforcement on that building and force them to correct the issue.
