Terrible service call, obviously a boiler room. The background noise was so bad that I couldnt understand anything she was saying.
Fraudulent activities going on including robberies from a police officer that's a captain the internal Affairs they can't do nothing about her because her rank is too high
- - Repeated break-ins, items missing, unauthorized access to units.
- - The staff allegedly enable theft and tamper with locks, raising safety concerns.
been having a bad experience with the company due to the fact the manager is friends with Mallory, who is someone that has been coming up there doing break-ins at my storage unit, stealing out of my storage unit. I do not like the idea that my items are not safe and they've been coming up missing because of her.
She has been having people come up there, storing stuff inside the storage units that are not even rented out. The manager found someone else inside of the storage unit that was not renting from public storage; somebody was randomly coming up there and putting their stuff inside of the storage unit. I can't believe the managers allow this to go on there and also allowed for me to get robbed there. Every day she has someone picking my locks.
She also has family members and friends stealing locks from me and they are using the locks to put their cars inside the storage units and sleeping inside of their cars in the storage units, which is not safe for me because they are bothering me by my storage unit. I have heard them trying to break inside of my storage unit while I was on the inside of my storage unit. I had a lot from the inside. They need to stop coming up there bothering my storage unit.
They also were harassing me about my account, changing the amount that I pay, and someone fixed it. I am tired of someone harassing me about my account at the storage unit and harassing me about other stuff, using my electronics to get inside of the gate. Sometimes they don't even have a gate code to get out; they are asking people to let them out. Like yesterday, I witnessed a green Range Rover truck after 2:30 and a black Cadillac driving out using someone else's gate code to get out.
That was Mallory or an ex-lover of mine or an ex-girlfriend of mine with one of her relatives. She sells drugs, she does drugs, and we are talking about cocaine. She uses cars to hide the drugs in and has people driving cars with drugs in them; they hide the drugs in the car somewhere. So I have been reporting all this information to the police because she is the reason why the police are here in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and had to arrest 39 illegal immigrants on the south side.
I don't like the idea that she is getting away with these robberies at my storage unit. This is a nice storage unit I have had, and she has broken into. I would like for someone to talk to the manager and let her know that they cannot be changing the information of my account on how much I am supposed to pay for the storage unit each month, which is $135 each month, including the insurance, because someone switched it to $155 each month with the insurance. I knew for a fact it was not that much; I was told it would be $135 with the $20 insurance included each month, and I appreciate whoever changed it back to the $135 each month like it was supposed to be.
The police also found out someone else's name was on my account when I was at storage unit number G059 at location 8824 West Brown Deer Road when the police were called out there because they thought I was someone else. This was on April 23rd, 2026, around 6:00 a.m. in the morning. Twice the police were called on me due to the fact they thought I was someone else and not myself.
I don't like the idea they call the police on me, but when somebody is doing illegal criminal activities at my storage unit, they are not making sure they call the police on them; they are allowing them to go in the storage unit. I believe the manager that drives the black Chevy truck that says CarMax on the license plate is friends with Mallory and that she's keeping it a secret. Also, I believe she may be doing stuff like auditing the cameras for her so they can't see or tell that I got robbed up there because I actually did get robbed up there. The police did come out there and file a police report.
Also, the lock to the storage units, where you put the lock on the inside, the police had to take pictures of that because somebody used a tool to break inside of the storage unit, which is number E027. I was supposed to get a call back from the district manager, not Scott, the manager that's over Scott, but he never gave me a call back.
Plus, some young people keep coming up there as well around when I come up there to charge my cell phone, moving cars around and putting them in different storage units. So, it's something going on up there that shouldn't be going on, and it has something to do with immigrants as well, and they are stalking me and following me, harassing me through my electronics.
User's recommendation: I don't recommend nobody because not only I got robbed but it's other people getting robbed up there too and I heard two people arguing and the one that was doing the stealing was the one that was doing the most arguing why the other lady was watching and she told her your stuff filled inside of my storage unit false

- - Site shows 9:00 close; arrived at 5:00 and couldn't access items.
I came to pick up something out of my unit and no one was there to cut off the lock, which is their lock. I don’t understand why no one is there when clearly it says on the site they close at 9:00 or that they have no schedule on the door.
I got here at 5:00, so I don’t know what the problem is. I feel like they are holding my things hostage. This is so crazy.
I would like to know what time the property owner leaves. I also called before closing.

- - Promised a 12-month price lock with free lock and no admin fee.
- - Rent rose $50/month after 3 months; rates can change.
- - Customer service did not respond.
Received an email saying they missed me and had a promotional offer if we returned. They offered a good price locked in for 12 months and a free lock and no admin fee!
So of course we took the bait. After being there 3 months, they raised the rent $50/month!! When I showed the email promo I signed up with, they told me they can change the rent anytime they want. I left messages with the corporate and the district manager and never received a call back.
Very disappointed with the customer service and the bait and switch.
Be wary.

And I've retained legal counsel to help me through these matters and I'm going to be filing a civil suit against public storage on Monday morning.
I provided a screenshot of their final notice on June 15th and then my stuff was sold June 19th and I don't know about anybody else's math but my math says that's only 4 days not 14.

Verified Reviewer |Absolute bait-and-switch nightmare! Avoid this company
- - Online promo rates lure you in, then rent rises 30-50% in months.
- - BBB complaint filed; corporate says rate increases are in the contract.
Do not trust their online "promotional" rates. They lure you in with a decent price, only to jack up the rent by 30-50% in just a matter of months.
I filed a formal BBB complaint regarding their sudden, unreasonable rent increase, and their corporate corporate response was basically: "It's in the contract, so we can do whatever we want."
They literally do not care about customer loyalty. They will hold your belongings hostage and use their fine print to bleed you dry.
If you don't want to deal with corporate greed, hidden fees, and constant stress about when your rent will skyrocket next, go somewhere else.
There are plenty of honest, local storage facilities in *** that actually guarantee their rates for a year. Public Storage is a complete rip-off.
Preferred solution: Price reduction

Verified Reviewer- - Behind on payments after March 2024; unit auctioned on April 9, 2024.
- - Personal items were not returned by buyers; voicemail stated August 9 deadline.
Hello. My name is Lindsey Larsen and in 2024 I had a storage unit at your Midvale, UT Public Storage. I was paying for the unit every month for the first 5 months or so and my payments were always on time. Then I went to a residential treatment (rehab) in March of 2024 and my bill for my storage unit started getting behind. I knew that I was a little bit behind because they left me a voicemail saying that my unit would go to auction on August 9, 2024 if I didn't catch up on my payments. The voicemail was left on my phone on March 27, 2024 so I knew I had a little bit of time to get caught up on my payments. I knew I had at least until I got released from treatment, so at that point I was able to focus on finishing my treatment and I would take care of the storage unit bill after I completed treatment. I’m not allowed to have my phone when in inpatient treatment so the facility only let me use it to check my voicemails every few weeks and I had to turn my phone back in. The day that I checked my voicemails was March 28, 2024 and I had just received this voicemail from a lady named Lisa at Public Storage in Midvale, UT on March 27, 2024. This is the transcribing voicemail on my phone copy and pasted word for word: Hi Lindsey this is Lisa with Public Storage, was calling you regarding your unit at our Midvale location. I was calling to make sure you were aware of that August 9 deadline that unit will go to auction on August 9 for nonpayment. In order to stop those proceedings it is very important that we get that payment today. You can call and pay by phone by calling 866-444-****, or you can pay online at publicstorage.com, or you can log onto your PS app and make the payment there. But again, our deadline is really getting close here and our timeline is short so it is important that we get that payment today in order to stop those proceedings. Thank you so much.
I have attached a photo of the transcribed voicemail as well as the audio recording of the voicemail so you can see exactly what I listened to and read that day when checking my messages.
So it caught me off guard to find out that on April 9th my entire storage unit was auctioned off and I lost everything that I owned. By the time I found out on April 10th, it was already too late and there was nothing that I could do according to your employee who I spoke to. I even went as far as driving to Public Storage that day and waiting until 5:00 PM at the entrance because I was told that the people who purchased my unit had 48 hours to bring back any personal items that were in the unit. 5:00 PM that day was the final hour that those personal items were due back to Public Storage and I figured that since I had my daughter's birth certificate and social security card in there along with all baby photos and photo albums of her whole life and mine, the buyers of my unit would definitely bring back those items by the due date/due time. They never showed up. The employee who was working that day (April 10, 2024) told me that she couldn't give me the buyer's contact information but that she would continue to call them and if/when they returned the personal items that she would contact me immediately. I followed up with Public Storage a couple of times and they never heard from nor received any of my personal items from the buyers.
As you can tell by the transcript of the voicemail and the recording, it clearly says August 9th two different times. It doesn't say anything about April 9th. You can probably understand how shocked and devastated I was to find out that I had unexpectedly lost everything I owned. I don't even know how I could put a number amount to what that storage unit was worth to me. Like I said, my entire lifeline and everything that my family and I have worked so hard to acquire, both physical things with high monetary value (dental hygiene loupes, dental instruments, and all of the products that I sell from my online business) and sentimental items (my whole life photo albums, my daughter's baby pictures and baby blankets) that I could never replace were all lost that day. All because one of your employees did not pay attention to detail. Public Storage failed to provide me with the correct information, therefore my inability to rectify the situation in a timely manner was not punctual.
I would appreciate a response from you by September 5th, 2025 so that we can settle this in some way. I have also sent a copy of this email as well as all documents pertaining to this situation to my personal attorney.
Best,
Lindsey Larsen
- Repeatedly call you but tell you the wrong date
- Send many emails to collect their rent money
- Attention to detail
- Promise more than they can or are willing to deliver
- Lack of any meaningful customer service
Preferred solution: I would estimate $30,000 in items from my online business that I sell plus $20,000 in monetary and sentimental items.
User's recommendation: Don’t trust this company with your most valuable possessions
Rent and lien sale
- - Poor site office communication.
- - Billing errors caused a lost unit and wrong move-in size.
- - Rent jumped from 220 to 400 in under a year; moving costs.
Poor communication from site office. Staff is hardly ever available to talk to.
I fell behind in rent and they continued to ad fees to make a horrible situation worse. One of my units was lost due to a billing issue, and when I first moved in, they put me in a 10x10 instead of a 10x14! I hired movers because my house was full of furniture prior to moving, and I was forced to rent an additional unit thus making my rent almost double than what I budgeted for.
I could not have moved my things again without paying movers another 400.00 to move them. The rent went from 220.00 to 400.00 in less than a year.
User's recommendation: Make certain you are given the correct size before you move in.

- - Rent checks mailed; USPS forwarding causes delays.
- - Mail forwarded; no Public Storage mail seen.
I just received a card about my sister in laws space at 626 Highway 35, Middletown NJ. She has had serious surgery and has been in a medical facility for a year.
Her Acct. # on the card is 815**** and space # is A2087.
I am her Power of Attorney and have been sending in checks for the last year. Her mail is being forwarded to me by the Post Office but does take extra weeks to get to me. I send checks for her apartment rent and storage unit rent that should arrive prior to the new month and do see the checks clearing her bank account each month.
The Post Office may cause delivery to take extra time because I live in Egg Harbor Twp, NJ that is south Jersey west of Ocean City. My sister in law's mail forwarded to me has never included anything from Public Storage! Do I have to tell her that her family memories were stolen from her and sold?
