The insurance premium was sprung on us at signing and when asking specifically if the insurance was mandatory, the manager stated that "yes" it was. Upon arriving home, the 6 page agreement states "6.1 You man purchase the insurance that we offer as a convenience to you, but you are NOT required to purchase it.

If you elect to purchase that insurance your monthly premium will include an additional amount for the coverage you select".

Our items would be covered under our homeowner's policy and we would have no need to pay an additional $11 per month. I also notice the insurance company is owned by the storage company which explains the motive for imposing the insurance.

Product or Service Mentioned: Public Storage Manager.

Reason of review: Manager falsely stating insurance was mandatory..

Monetary Loss: $22.

Preferred solution: cancel the falsely sold insurance and return premium(s).
