Complete incompetence / very greedy liars and lack of custom

Do not do business with Public Storage. There are thousands of complaints with no issues resolved. I got locked on their property almost overnight with no emergency phone number which they say they have, no on-site manager which they say they have, and after complaining they threaten eviction when I threaten a lawsuit for retaliation the simply raise my rent the next month it is completely criminal and I cannot see how they are not being dealt with by the state with how many complaints against them I will notify the state agencies and forward copies of all these complaints to the consumer protection agency and Fair Trade Commission in hand Better Business Bureau in the State's Attorney's office. Do not move in there they will bait and switch to tell you what the dollar to move in and 3 months later they will raise your rent by 50%. A few months another 20% within a year you'll be paying double do not go to these people they're Crooks Liars thieves and incompetent. Beware these companies are rip off and does nothing to protect your valuables and has no security go over night watch and you get stuck on the property if you don't leave exactly at 9 and no one was around to make sure no one is on the property so they prevent this it is horrible beware do not use this company!!!!

Totally agree, Massachusetts consumer affairs needs to get involve immediately and stop allowing Public Storage to get away with ripping off consumers and changing the rules to their benefit. I rented a unit at the Methuen, MA storage in Dec 2015, it started out at $169 and within 6 months it almost doubled and has exorbitantly increased every year.

Starting 1 July 18, it went up to $407, I decided to move out yesterday (30 Jun 18) because I did not complete the move by 5pm when the office closed, they're charging me for the entire month ($407.00) even though 30 Jun ends at 11:59. They pro rated the price when I moved in, since then they have changed the rules to their benefit and did not inform me. No more pro rating! These people are just plain greedy, a bunch of blood sucking leeches.

Don't give them your business - find somewhere else, you will regret it. METHUEN, MA PUBLIC STORAGE IS THE WORSE - STAY AWAY FROM THEM!

Wrongly charged

Public Storage is trying to charge me for another months rent because I couldn’t get someone to inspect my unit after move out. It was 8:30 at night! No employee was available to do it. I moved out 3 days early before the next month they have cameras, PUT THEM TO USE AND LOOK TO SEE WHEN I MOVED OUT! They claim I moved out on July 2nd when they inspected my unit. These people are idiots!!!

If you plan on renting a storage unit, you should look around for a company that isn't going to raise your rates every 6 months. It may seem like a great deal when you sign up and your first month is an incentive to get you to rent with their storage company and appears to be a reasonable monthly rate, BUT watch out, it continues to go up EVERY six months. We're not talking a couple of dollars every six months. My increase this time was $18.00 per month increase! When I went in to the front office to ask if I should expect a rate increase every six months, her reply was "yes". If you plan on keeping your unit for any period of time, plan on paying more every six months. It's worth the homework to check around and if you have to pay a little more up front not to be confronted with continual rate increases......DO IT!!!!!! I would NOT rent from this company or refer anyone to rent with such unexpected rates.

"Unfortunate customer relations bungle on the part of PS Management"

Yesterday, after 35 months of renting three large lockers & after spending over $25,000.00 to this company, I asked the on-site manager if she could give us a 2 day cushion in emptying the third locker as I am disabled and had logistics issues in getting a couple of strong youngsters to finish the job till the weekend. She noted that their company policy would not allow her to do that but because I had been such a valued customer for so long, she volunteered to call her district manager, Dan Frohock, to see if he would authorize an exception. I was filled with optimism for the five whole minutes it took her to return my call. He said no. I then spent three hours trying to speak with anyone in CA at their corporate office in an attempt to find a real person who valued good customer relationships. Those three hours would have been better spent playing miniature golf. Because of this absolute inability of any management personnel to recognize that not only can exceptions be made, but that there are times when it would just be the right thing to do. Now instead, Public Storage has a long time customer who will not endorse them to friends, will not sing their praises and will never do business with them again. But I will devote myself to making sure that EVERYONE I know understands that they should never give any business to Public Storage. It's simply a shame. (It should be noted that the on-site management, Maryann, cannot be faulted here. It is the completely tone-deaf corporate management who doesn't care about good customer relationships and cannot see the benefit of "word of mouth", even in today's world. It's no longer just the guy on the corner, but we each now have a platform by which to convey thoughts and ideas to others instantly and en mass.)

Thank you for cementing what I already thought about the company. They are like a snake. Change your move in date by 6 months in their records (to a busy time of the year) so they can raise your rates and then explain--it's due to your move-in date being atg the busy time of the yeqr.

She called the cops....

I wanted more than one cart to unload the entire contents of my mothers house to our second story unit. Lillian at the Rufe Snow location in North Richland Hills TX called the cops on me when I asked for her bosses number. I have dealt with anyone in customer service with such a distaste for dealing with people. She should not be the face of your company, you should be embarrassed that she even calls that office a job. We were there on a Wednesday after noon around three, there was literally no one there but us, she said she had six carts on the premises and we had asked for three. Those other two carts stayed locked up the whole time we were there, right inside the door we had to use, not once did someone try to use one. Another lady told us we were hogging the elevator, again we were the only ones there, how did she expect us to get all of our things to our second story unit? I want to speak to someone higher up than Lillian...she shouldn't have a job.

I called yesterday the employee was very rude her concern was she got off at 5 pm she had a graduation to attend i called at 445pm when i found out my things couldnt fit in storage i ask for the largest unit on may 16 .i was told by the lady i saw the unit i should have know the size but when i was in the store 5mins later i asked her to help she continued to give me attitude and tell me about the computer shutting down at 5 PM never wanted to assist me She proceeded to tell me to leave and she told me to shut up By then i was completely pissed cause i couldnt finish moving my household properly i cursed her out and told her about the inconvenience and her customer service then she called the police because she said she wasnt helping it was closed and oh well i a have never been more humiliated plus she keep saying she wasnt the one who gave me the unit does it really matter ?

Now it has become the district manger is either aboifi g talking to me or he has sided with her they have yet to offer anything on the table such as new unit get rid of the. Person who doneit just something even let me get my stuff. But noanger picks us todeath tells basically can't sit down and do something . Can't fix our bikes. FALSE CLAIMS OF NOTICE OF AUCTION FOR CONTENTS BEING SOLD

For anyone who has rented from these facilities and experienced payment problems but was in contact with the company by phone only to learn one day that they sold your belongings of great value and claimed that they did not notify you by the same phone number they have always called to speak to you because as they say, "We are not sure if that is your phone number" so that you are not able to stop the sale of your personal belongings, I am ready to join or begin a class action lawsuit against this company. Clearly this is a set up. After seeing what happened to me, I can now understand that the claim that they are not certain it is your number is just part of a scam aimed at those persons who have great value in their rental units so that more money is made on the sale and the cherry-picking of your goods before the public can see what you have. It's all organized for profit. Let's start a list now. They think their contract is air-tight. It's not and they screwed up big time. If you were victimized by this management then e-mail me at lamarherring123@***.com Let's get an attorney group to correct the wrong and pay for the damages of loss you may have experienced. They are nothing but criminals I've only rented for 3 months and so far I've been locked on the property my gate access would not work I code they hadn't lied about the emergency number after hours no one answers it was just a voicemail and after 3 months of being there they raised my rent after complaining about being stuck on the property because the next day instead of an apology they threatened to evict me for being stuck on their property because they were afraid of his liability negligence in which they are both negligent and liable, and I looked it up online it has happened before and people have gotten injured badly being stuck, and I looked it up online it has happened before and people have gotten injured badly being stuck there trying to get out and climb over the fence requiring 40 stitches thousands of complaints and if they don't do anything it's all about lies and money they know once you get your stuff in there you really don't want to move it out so they wait a couple months and increase it it's unfortunate that the state does not regulate it because they can raise it any amount they want he can raise every month if they want it is insane and should be regulated they are nothing but greedy incompetent negligent rude unprofessional people who you should try to avoid.Everybody should get together who they have lied to and screwed over and file The Joint lawsuit high-profile attorney with over a hundred plaintiff go public their stock will drop like a rock the corporate corporate CEO will take notice people will be fired they will redo some of the policies.Let's get together and show him that no matter how many people they rip off and how big of a law department they have, they're still liable and they're still negligent and they're still committing fraud and must be brought down and have their stock Drop Like a Rock from the Empire State Building that would be fair Justice to such criminals

The worst

I couldn't get to my storage facility due to severe weather with flooding, I went to close today and found out that I have to pay the full month regardless. So I'm giving them one month of free rent because they claimed that I held someone from renting that unit, so basically they had my storage rented before I even moved out they just want to double dip on the customers .P. We made a reservation at a Public Storage site on 06-05-2018 using a Summer Kick-Off Sale monthly Rate. When we arrived to move in the space had been rented and no other 10x20 unit was available at that site.

The girl at the front desk said they have a first come first serve policy (so what does reservation mean to them).

A 10x20 Unit was available at a site close by but the Summer Kick-Off Sale monthly rate did not apply to that location. Unfortunately we were in a bind and had to rent the site close by, but the rent went from the Summer Kick-Off Sale Monthly Rate of 133.00 to 240.00

Yes.I have similar complaint as well as well as being locked on the property overnight because my cold will not let me out when I stayed in their past 9 p.m. when they close they had no site manager on duty like they say they do did know it working emergency after hour number like they say they do and after complaining about being locked there they decide to raise my rent the following month by about 25% and have never got back to me when I ask them to reply about being lock on the property in about their negligence and liability instead to just raise the rent considerably they are thieves and they are dishonest and they are getting away with it somehow they need to be sued in a court of law by many of the people who have sustained damages and been cheated by.

I have full documentation in correspondence to them as well they are incompetent at best incomplete criminals at worst! and they're basically creating a monopoly since they own so many buildings everywhere and there's very little competition that is another reason and the only reason they're still in business

I have experienced theft with Public Storage.

That "Lovelace" character is a theif. I was notified regarding my lock not being on properly, ( which was a lie). I was out of town at the time, due to my job. The last time I went to the unit was 04/22/18, however, I was' nt notified until 10 days later, which I found this to be veru peculiar, hence, after I checked the manager's job " responsibilities", which included, " frequent rounds of the units to ensure safety of all of the property". Well, if the lock was not on properly, how come did it take all those days to call to inform me of the potential loss of my property? If she had been doing all of her rounds, she would have told me earlier. Mot lock was compromised, because they ( that witch and Lovelace), planned all of that. She told me to come and put the lock on right, I was in Virginia working on a contract for my job. I toldtje "B" that I couldnt leave right then, so she says , I need to send an email to the district manager, Lovelace to allow him to get permission to allow him to cut the lock and replace it. I sent the email and he didnt reply to it until 5-6 days later, meantime, my unit is'nt safe ( supposedly), I checked the lock twice before I left my unit,,, I am positive that I did, so I knew it was a lie. Anyhow, he cut the lock and emailed that he put another lock on the unit. I finally returned to 45 Whitlock, Marietta, Ga,the address of the Public Storage,I got the new key for the unit from that wince.......... when I opened unit, it looked like a hurricane had hit it, obviously it was gambled through, boxes took apart and trampled, so many missing/stolen items, I really wanted to shoot that "b", it was so had for me to retain my sanity, I was livid, still am. The lock they cjt off was laying on the floor, cut all up,I guess, they thought I was pleased to see it was cut I wentto the office and ak her,wtf happened to my stuff, and why did it look like that. That wince said the " I dont know what youre talking about", my friend had to restrain me at that point,, I wanted to kill her because she stole my belongings, and that district manager is due for a good *** whuppen.. smart mouth, rude, evil THIEF. Someone is going to get hurt, keep the antics up..if I was/her, I'd be looking for another job, you cant keep working there and think that either one of those two are safe doing people like that.

It looks like in side work, a unit sits for a qhile and someone has the411 and puts peiple up on that unit and they rent one close to the unit and come over the top orifithas a court seal thwy have there way with your property sad sad way to make a living

they raise the rates without warning at this facility what a rip offf artist!!! they suck!!Shocked.a binch of crooks whom i should have never got involved with. as a senior citizen veet iwaish i had never gotten involved with. their ofiice in glendale ca is also a joke. have not done anything in three years. keep raising rates but does not give notice. crooked and inept alll vets and the gao stay awy for veterans sake. put veterans atorage anyplace but publoc storage facilities.as a matter of fact this is my third rate increase without a month notice. claims emaill me how can you email anyone in which the email account has been discontinued,, they are jokes abd discreapancy to the piblic storage business.
