I selected public storage as my storage facility in June 2018, for a rate of $65 per month, a 5x10 storage unit. I just received notice that beginning Dec 2018 my rate will be $82 per month, a $17 hike, 26%.

This is very high rate increase and the facility has limited access hours (only 9:30 am - 5:00 pm on weekends, 9:30 am - 6 pm on weekdays).

Beware, from reading other reviews about other public storage locations I found that this routine is common for them, rate hikes every 6 months over 25%. I emailed their customer service and they were not helpful at all and just referred me to the lease agreement that stipulates they only need to give me 30 days notice for "rate adjustments."

Product or Service Mentioned: Public Storage Storage Unit.

Reason of review: Pricing issue.

Preferred solution: Price reduction.

Your first rate increase is 6 months after renting then yearly after that. The lease does mention rate increases
