Public Storage will charge you $20 to make a payment over the phone. They claim that this is what the bank charges them! Ooops - I work for a bank so that story doesn't work. They have come up with a number of ways to avoid answering their customer 'service' line - no wonder, since they have a bunch of morons working there. One person laughed at me and said it wasn't possible for my drivers... Read more

I made a mistake and didn't shop around. They offer the first month free. But, here is what they don't tell you when they are anxious to close a deal. Bear in mind, I wanted to take home and read the contract and was told that they couldn't guarantee the same rent quote when I returned. RENTER BEWARE: The sizes are APPROXIMATE. RENT is due by the 10th and if not paid, there is an enormous late... Read more

Received notice that my storage rent was due "BEFORE NOV 2ND 2013" If not paid a lien would be placed and my lock cut and unit to be scheduled for auction. That in itself is acceptable terms as I was running a month behind on paying my rent for the last 2 previous months but I was always able to get my payment in just under the lien date deadline. When I received the preliminary Lien Notice I... Read more

Public Storage on 13th Ave. on Capitol Hill in Seattle used to be a fine place for storage. The managers at the time had been there many years and treated everyone like friends. On Feb. 1, 2011, I leased a large spot (approx. $148 per month) which was large enough to contain my entire life's belongings. My partner and I had just moved from Shoreline back to Cap Hill. On June 1, I sent my... Read more

Ben at the Spring Valley, Ca. location tried to push so many items at us for purchase (tape, boxes, ropes) that my husband and I left the store (AFTER! selecting our 10"X20" unit) without purchasing the unit and ended up going with Cube Smart (down the street) instead. WE DID NOT NEED ALL THE EXTRA ITEMS he was trying to sell us, and we told him so, over and over again.....this was such an... Read more

I experienced the most embarrassing and humiliated moment as a paying customer of Public Storage today. On 11/22/2013, a Friday, as I went to retrieve personal belonging, I personally witnessed Niagara Falls taking place over my storage space at this facility. Water was pouring over my rented storage space and its contents from above due to a water boiler explosion (as I was told by a Public... Read more
