I went to my storage at 7:30 am after work there was a lock on my unit . public storage office don't open until 9:30. I returned at 9:35 went straight back to my unit called the office. We have had a storage unit with Public Storage for 14 years. This month I get a notice that our rent is going up from $60 a month to $87. I called the local agent, Julie, who said they don't have anything to do with it. After my rent was raised to $141 for a 5x10 space, I went online and discovered that if I was a new customer I could get the same space for less than $100 per month. When I called to complain they reduced my rent to $112 for 6 months. I was a customer for 8 years. I'm taking my business to ProGuard. Public Storage doesn't reward customer loyalty. First they had it in their computer that we were late on paying when in actuality I paid in advance. As a result the replaced their lock with theirs (WRONGLY since it was paid). Finally I am in shock because when I finally did have to pay late, they THREW EVERYTHING AWAY!! It was due on the 1st and they threw everything away by the 25th!! NO NOTICE. NO EMAILS. NOTHING! I had to move out of state at last minute, so everything I own other the a bag of close went to storage. All is good for the first few months. I send the payment in by mail a week ahead of the due date every month. After about for months they call and say I need to pay late charges... Ok, It only a few bucks no problem. My fiance' and I have a large storage unit at Public Storage (10x20 & 10x10). We were unloading the moving truck into the unit, which extended past 9:00 pm. I am a victim of storage theft, why is it that for all needs it's the property manager, who you deal with, if you don't pay, "public storage" will try to keep and then auction off your property. I am very confused about the insurance theft coverage ordeal, public storage manager and public storage now have "nothing to do, or will do for you". The manager, Meg, was aware of an infestation in a locker behind our and never notified us of her discovery. Months after, we went to vacate our storage locker and EVERYTHING was covered in vermin fecies. We had to throw out our infested property and wear gloves to move our items. Public storage on mannehiem in Hillside, Illinois has the worst customer service ever!!!!! Hasn't even been 30 days and I have a extra 50 charge.The sales associate Brittany says it's for the last 5 days of July. Then my bill will start on August 1st. WTF?!!! Add comment
